Laily Apa is no more with us

Laily Begum (1950-2008) or Laily Apa ( elder sister) as she was more popularly known started working for ActionAid since 1984. at that time ActionAid was a very small organization.. Although she was a support staff, everyone used to treat her as a guardian. She was one of the oldest staff who started ActionAids life with a small office situated at Shyamoly.

Global Economic Justice Forum 2008 held in Dhaka Bangladesh:

The global economic justice forum was held in Dhaka city from the 29th to the 31st of January 2008 with a vow to free society from hunger, illiteracy, unemployment and discrimination. ActionAid Bangladesh along with 50 local and foreign non-government organizational organized the forum with a view to strengthening the effort to establish economic justice in the world.

Caregivers of Disabled Children speak out:

ActionAid Partner SEID Trust organized a conference of the Caregivers of persons with intellectual and multiple disabilities on the last 31st of December 2007 at the BIAM Foundation Auditorium. This was a unique event where the caregivers got the chance to speak out about their challenges faced from society and recommendations were made by them on how to improve the situation and gain acceptance in society.
