Feminist leadership Forum inaugurated at ActionAid Bangladesh:

"The Forum gives us a space to talk, really talk and open our hearts about problems, hopes and dreams"-says Shahida Begum, Convener, Feminist Leadership Forum of ActionAid Bangladesh. 

14th November 2007:a special day for the staff of ActionAid Bangladesh. It was the day the Feminist leadership Forum was launched-the forum comprises of all the female staff of ActionAid- and it is a space where they will all get together to discus problems, issues relating to their work environment and life experiences as women. Diversity, tolerance, accountability and non-aggression were some of the core values and principals that will be followed in the forum. The forum was launched amongst a day-long discussion on gender and feminism led by Kamla Bhasin and Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid. Through discussion and group work the female staff of ActionAid chalked out a terms of reference for the forum .Shahida Begum, Admin Support Staff of ActionAid project Office was selected unanimously to be the convener of the forum due to her contribution in women's rights through her own life experience
