AAIC signed agreement with government poverty reduction body

AAIC signed an agreement with the Foreign Capital Funds Management Centre, Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation under the State Council, a key government poverty reduction body, for a cooperation framework on a ceremony in South China's Guangxi on 31st May.

With this, AAIC has become a partner in the Community Driven Development Programme in China's Poverty Stricken Areas which is a joint initiative between the Foreign Capital Funds Management Centre and the World Bank. The programme aims at improving China's poverty reduction mechanism and effectiveness and exploring new modes of poverty reduction in China.

According to the signed document, the key responsibility of AAIC will be to train project management staffers and community facilitators in the area of participatory working methods, finance management, booking keeping, programme implementation procedure and principle in Jingxi County, Guangxi

ActionAid China Country Director Miss Zhang Lanying said, " this corporation marks a big step forward in the cooperation between the Government and NGOs in poverty reduction in China. With ActionAid China's strong expertise working at grassroots and community level, we will make great contribution to the project."
