Khendow Kor women and children development program initiated development activities at FR Bannu in June 2003 with the partnership of ActionAid Pakistan on long-term basis. Main reasons for giving preference to the DA area took into consideration three key elements: poverty, accessibility and security.

The prominent feature of the area is that the need for development intervention came from the communities themselves with wholehearted pledge of the Malik and local elders. The overall encompassing theme of the program intervention is on women and child rights interlinked with women/community primary needs.
