ActionAid Pakistan organized a national consultation and planning workshop to develop common understanding on ELBAG between AAPk community partners and other allied civil society organizations and to prepare a joint plan of action while planning to mobilize community groups around economic and development issues by forming community ELBAG circles.
A partners, academicians, activists and AAPk teams participated in the workshop.
Mr. Fateh Marri, Manager Programs AAPk Karachi office formally welcomed the participants in the workshop and reinforced AAPk's commitment towards budget tracking work. He also stated the brief history and significance of ELBAG work in Pakistan. He expressed hope for active participation of the partners for mobilizing the civil society groups in this regard.
Adam Malik, coordinator ELBAG Pakistan introduced the ELBAG that include concept and methodology. In the session participants discussed the role of AAPk, partners, community groups and other civil society actors. ELBAG is a learners community that will learn by doing. Capacity building training play important role to enhance the capability and aptitude however ELBAG participants will learn from each others experience as well. Thats why a broad based group concerned organizations and individuals will generate learning opportunities for each other.
