ActionAid is an International NGO, a unique partnership of people and organizations, committed to fighting poverty and the injustices that cause it. It works in over 47 countries, in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. ActionAid is currently seeking qualified and experienced applicants to fill the following position in ActionAid Pakistan Country Office- Islamabad.

 
Job Title:  Policy Research & Advocacy Manager

 

Broad responsibilities: S/he would be responsible for giving strategic direction and leadership to the policy team in setting pro-poor people policy and advocacy objectives, priorities, strategies and mechanism for monitoring and evaluating impact. S/he will also be responsible for developing partnership and maintaining good relationship with national and international NGOs, multi-lateral and bilateral institutions, CSOs, activists groups, social movements and research organizations that are pursuing similar pro-poor policy and advocacy agenda. S/he manages, supervises and provides support to a team of policy officers working on different thematic areas.

 

Required knowledge and experiences: S/he is required to have a good grasp of planning, budgeting and managing human and financial resources through participatory and inclusive approach. Understanding and experience in the areas of governance, gender, human security and rights-based approach are highly advantageous. Knowledge and deeper understanding of Pakistan's social, political and economic dynamics, the legal and constitutional environment and conceptual clarity on major policy issues are mandatory. In general, the person is expected to be pro-active, innovative and dynamic in initiating, framing and pursing policy and campaign initiatives and engagements with other actors. The person will be a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and report to the Country Director.

 

Qualification and Skills: Minimum Masters Degree in Social Science, preferably in development studies, political economy, law or other relevant disciplines with at least five years of experience in senior position.  The applicant should possess good writing skills in Urdu and English, strong managerial skills with quick decision making traits, analytical skills, good interpersonal communication skills as well as research skills in social science fields. Ability to work in a non-hierarchical, diversified and team oriented environment is highly appreciated.

 ActionAid Pakistan (AAPK) is seeking qualified and experienced applicants to fill the following positions (contractual) in its Field Office - Noshki.


Job Title:  Finance cum Administration Officer (one vacancy):

Responsibilities:Responsible for Bank & cash handling, preparing payrolls, and producing financial reports, income tax issues, external audit requirements, providing support to partners to improve their financial system and mechanism. Responsible for administrative work e.g. Dealing with Vendors / Transporter / Printer etc, Leave Record Maintenance, Boarding/lodging and travel arrangement for staff, Vehicle Management, Purchasing, Selling and Transferring of Items, Verification of invoices and issuing payment voucher for payment settlement, Purchasing & maintaining inventory and its record.

 

Qualifcations: Masters or Bachelors in commerce or accounting studies. Work experience of 2 to 3 years, preferably with an NGO/INGO. . Experience of working in a computerized accounting environment is a must. Candidates who possess knowledge and experience of working with the financial software will be preferred. This job demands meeting deadlines, coordinating with team members and providing support to the program staff.

Job Title: Social Organizer - Female (One vacancy):

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Rapport building with the community, line agencies, government departments etc,
  • Formation of community groups, women associations and CCBs.
  • Awareness raising and mobilizing the communities to ensure their maximum participation in AAPk program activities
  • Providing technical and logistical support in organizing AAPk trainings, seminars, workshops and program awareness initiatives within the communities
  • Regular area visits and meetings to ensure close liaison with the communities (especially women) and developing/disseminating AAPk campaign, Rights Based Approach to development work and program awareness material within the communities.

Qualifcations: Bachelors degree in social sciences with relevant work experience of 2 to 3 years with reputed NGO/INGO, Activist organization etc. Prospective candidate must possess local knowledge of area, political orientation, command on local language, Urdu and English, good interpersonal communication skills, computer literate etc.
