Happiness of receiving

After have seen the Moken’s way of life short film, I have seen a lot of smile faces from many people. But the only one smile face I most impressed was from one middle old lady named "Pa Keab", the actress staring in "Moken’s, right?" It was the first time of meeting between Pa Kieab and I.

I have seen these short films earlier and realized that Pa Kieab from Moken’s Rights has a wonderful voice of singing. I had a chance to meet her at Phurtinan Theartre in Ranong. Together with this opportunity, I also have a great experience meeting with University filmmakers. I saw Pa Kieab was taking a photo with them.

"It was strange that saw myself in the film and I never thought that I could a chance to join the film with these young people. They have an excellent work" Says Pakieab

"I felt strength when I saw myself in the film" The first conservation Pa Kieab talked to me. "Did you enjoy playing the film with these filmmakers? I asked. "Yes I did. I have never play the film before and I felt younger with them"

"Can you sing the Moken folk song?" I asked. I saw her red face before saying that she is shy to sing. Anyway, she told me about traditional the Moken’s folksong with the feeling hurt voice that the new Moken ignore the good old day tradition of folksong and it becomes to replaced by modern song . "if somebody in the village get trouble and not happy. So do I. I can’t stand on it. The only one thing I can do for is singing to relief suffering in their mind".

I think the musical is so important and be a part of the Moken’s way of life. The rhythm of live is as same as the rhythm of musical of the Moken’s. I said thank you and good bye to Pa Kieab. I walked back to the van and I heard the Moken’s folk song from Pa Kieab. I smiled back to her as she given me an inspiration of my life.
